About the Villa
Casa Shambala…….
Built on a hill just above the historic town of Tavira.
The closest airport is Faro at 35 minutes easy drive away, nearest beach is 10 – 15 minutes and Tavira town itself is only 5 – 8 minutes. The border to Spain is just 25 minutes away with stunning Seville being easy to reach at 1 hour and 20 mins.
The Villa is large and spacious at approximately 200 sq meters and is situated on its own 4 hectare plot of land with no overlooking neighbors – so if it’s privacy you are after, you can definitely easily get away from it all up here.
It has three sumptuous bedrooms which sleep six people comfortably. If you have young children, it can be made up to sleep an additional two extra.
In the heat of summer children (and adults) love to sleep on a custom sleeping area located on the roof and look at the stars.
The three bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower rooms.
The villa features a beautiful high ceiling living/dining area which helps keeps the villa cool in the summer heat without the need for air-conditioning. Fans are dotted throughout to assist with keeping you cool in the peak months.
Large French doors are off all the main rooms – being so high up you can feel a lovely cool breeze coming through on those hot summer nights.
The 10 meter long swimming pool outside is crystal clear, cool and refreshing and no….. it’s not heated… believe us, you just want to cool down after all that summer sun.
Outside as you look over the beautiful valley below. You have views of the very wonderful Tavira Town, Cabanas and the sea in the distance.
On clear nights (which is most of the time in summer) you can see the lighthouse flashing on the borders of Spain. You are only 25 minutes drive from the Spanish border bridge and the wonderful shopping and dining town of Ayomonte. Seville as mentioned, is only 1 hour 20 mins if you fancy some big city shopping!
There are so many wonderful places that are within easy reach of Casa Shambala.
Of course the amazing city of Faro (35 mins) and its medieval walled castle is incredible for shopping eating and strolling around. Amazingly Faro has got a fabulous beach 5 minutes from the main airport with wonderful restaurants and great surfing. At Estoi (30 mins) you have the stunning Pousada Palacio Estoi built in 1906. A beautiful palace that is now a hotel set in a typical and very lovely Portuguese village. Perfect for lunch. Perhaps go dancing or visit the night markets of Manta Rota (30 mins) Take a stroll along the promenade or visit the restaurants of Cabanas. (20 mins) Perhaps eat freshly caught fish at Santa Luiz, taking the local tourist train over the waters of the Ria Formosa nature reserve to the rustic and very tranquil Barril beach with all its discarded fishing boat anchors on display.

Or you can just relax at the villa with a DVD or if you like table football, we have a full size game here for you to use.
Saying that – if you can pull yourself away from the swimming pool – there is mile upon mile of the most amazing beaches in the Algarve within a 10 – 20 minute drive from here. Cabesca being one of our favorites
